"Vaudeville a la Mode" is a movement started in 2007 in Oakland, California by artists, comedians, dancers poets and musicians. It is a 21st century Vaudeville revival. The idea was spawned by and events managed by Ty Gerhardt of Oakland, California (Guitarist, Girlfriend Experience). In 2007 the events take place at "The Uptown" a theater venue on Telegraph Avenue in downtown Oakland. The Uptown is know for being the East Bay's answer to Slims and Bottom of the Hill venues in San Francisco, California across the bay.
