Rick Bolus High Potential "Blue-Chip" Basketball Camp "Blue-Chip" is a summer basketball camp for middle school and high school age athletes currently held at Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY.
History
[edit]"Blue-Chip" was founded in 1980 by Rick Bolus for the purpose of providing exposure for high school student athletes to college coaches and scouts.
Location
[edit]"Blue-Chip" camps have been held in Kentucky for its entire 34 year history. They have been held at college campuses which include Bellarmine University, Northern Kentucky University, Campbellsville University, and Georgetown College.
Format
[edit]Camps consist of 5 day, 4 night weeks that begin on Sunday and end on Thursday. Three games are played a day for each team with practices, educational forums, and drills scheduled in between. An overnight speciality camp is also held on the preceding weekend of the first camp week which is tailored for guards and post-players. These camps help refine the shooting technique for guards and the post play of inside players.
"Blue-Chip" was rated among one of the top 6 best summer basketball camps in the country by USA Today in .
