At the end of the journey, the Destined One defeats Sun Wukong's broken shell. Sun Wukong's circlet appears on the shell's head and falls into the shallow water. In one ending, the Old Monkey places the circlet on the Destined One, which traps him in the stone, if he has not recovered Sun Wukong's mind. In the other ending, as the Destined One has recovered Sun Wukong's mind, he does not wear the circlet. The latter ending provides the "Freed Mind" relic in a New Game Plus.[1]
At the end of the journey, the Destined One fights and defeats Sun Wukong's broken shell. All six senses, the five relics and the Destined One's mind, unite in the Destined One. As the shell dissipates, Sun Wukong's circlet appears on the shell's head and falls into the shallow water. In one ending, the Old Monkey places the circlet on the Destined One, which traps him in the stone. In the other ending, as the Destined One has recovered Sun Wukong's memories, he does not wear the circlet. The latter ending provides the "Freed Mind" relic in a New Game Plus.[2]
