I may have commented on your RfA; I hope I did so wisely.
Perhaps I supported your candidacy; while I don't wish to be ungracious, I'd appreciate fewer elaborate thank-you templates on this page. I supported you for the good of the project. Congratulations! Now get that broom and go to work.
Perhaps I opposed your candidacy; please don't take it personally. Be assured that I do not judge you as a person or even as an editor -- only as promising admin material or not. Whether I supported or opposed, please don't be dismayed if you fail an RfA. It doesn't mean you're a bad person or a bad editor; it doesn't even mean you would be a bad admin -- it just means Wait a few months, improve yourself, and try again. Adminship is no big deal.
If your RfA is still pending, I suggest you not comment here unless you are convinced that my behavior is suspect and questionable. The most likely result of your comment -- regardless of any other consideration -- is that I will change my vote to Strong Oppose. Adminship is a position of trust and requires a cool head at all times. If you don't have this quality, you suggest to me a person who may overreact at a critical time. John Reid
- Thank you very much for your comments... yeah, I'm starting to realize that I was displaying most of the traits that I despise seeing in admins, and I've come to the conclusion that I would have likely voted "oppose" to my RFA if it hadn't been my own. -- one who will remain anonymous
From Guide to requests for adminship: Do not post "thanks for voting" messages to the voters' talk pages. This is unneeded and a waste of resources (both of your time and harddisk space). Consider posting a thanks message instead on your own talk page and/or the talk page of your RFA page instead.
