Who am I?
[edit]My name is Johan Evers. I was born in 1965 and raised in the city of The Hague. I currently live just in between the cities of Everdingen and Culemborg, on the border of the Culemborg city limits, in an aera named Goilberdingen on old maps. This small piece of The Netherlands is only barely part of the Betuwe (more precise: the Neder-Betuwe), in the Dutch provence called Gelderland.
I'm still fairly new at Wikipedia. My first attempts date back to august 2005. But I'm a quick learner. My profession trains me in absorbing knowledge and transferring it to others on different levels of understanding. Also writing articles is part of my profession, so I can make good use of this skill in the Wikipedia.
What am I?
[edit]Privately I am a husband, a radio amateur (HAM call sign: PE1PUP), computer fanatic (in the area of both hardware and software), electronics fanatic (analog, digital and high frequency), nature fanitic (plants and animals), do-it-yourself guy (from electrics to masonry and much more) and lover of music (mainly listening, and then also mainly the non-vocal electronic music).
Professionally I am a Field Application Engineer (FAE) with the largest semiconductor distributor of The Netherlands, the Benelux, Europe and the world. (I will not mention names...). So also here I combine my knowledge of electronics, computers an lots more.
I'm educated to be....
My hobbies include...
What do I want?
[edit]Regarding Wikipedia I would like to try to fill holes in the knowledge database. I'm not really a minor-edits and small-details guy, but when I can make corrections on data already present, I will happily do so. However, I will focus on adding topics, which up til now do not produce any hits when searching for it, and add whatever I know from my own moderate know-how and experience. And naturally I will link these topics as good as possible into the materials already present in the system.
I hope to be able to provide a valuable contribution to the knowledge in this database. In order to keep an overview, I will list a summary of all I've already acomplished below. This is not in order to brag about it, but simply to give an idea of what blind spots I already managed to fill. Perhaps that this list also provides you with an idea of my personal interests.
What did I do?
[edit]The Acorn BBC microcomputer page added in the Dutch Wikipedia.
- Because it's my first own computer, and it's still faithfully operational. I've learned a lot from this machine.
The Klaus Schulze page added in the Dutch Wikipedia.
- Because I've got over half a meter of CDs from him, and his music still moves me. Klaus is far too unknown in The Netherlands.
The Everdingen page added in the Dutch Wikipedia.
- I live close by, and daily join the traffic jam at this place, but somehow the page was missing from the Dutch Wikipedia.
The Processorarchitecture page added in the Dutch Wikipedia.
- There are a lot of misunderstandings regarding this topic. Let's try to clear things up.
What do I plan to do?
[edit]Hmmm, that's a difficult question. Actually, I have no idea. I'll just see what crosses my path, and what appeals to me to make a contribution. All I can say is: watch this page, and you'll see for yourself.
With kind regards from Culemborg, Johan
