YouAreWelcomeHere
The #youarewelcomehere hash-tag campaign, launched in late 2016 as a direct response to the United States Presidential election, is one of the largest, most unified efforts amongst institutions and organizations of higher education. It's purpose: to send a message to international students that regardless of the political landscape in the United States, these students are welcome on university and college campuses by students, faculty and staff.
With the first video campaign launched with a direct effort of a group of universities working with Study Group, it was brought to life with the collaboration of these people and Joseph Monastero, Global Head of Marketing. Originally focusing on Study Group's partner schools, the campaign exploded after it was seen by other institutions, especially Temple University, and organizations like NAFSA[1], who have helped champion #youarewelcomehere’s expansion. Today, the campaign has grown to include more than 250 universities and organizations, garnering vast media coverage.
