Hungate is an area of the city of York, England. It is located south-east of the city centre, and is bounded by the River Foss to the east and south. Hungate was the site of X until 2010, with new apartments and office buildings being built on the site.
History
[edit]In Victorian times, Hungate was a slum. It was cleared in the 1930s.
Outline permission for a mixed-use scheme was granted in Hungate in 2005. The first apartments were completed on the site in 2009. The first office building was completed in 2015.
