John Micheal "Mic" Woods Mic Woods ,as he's is colloquially known,is a guitarist and songwriter resident in Plumstead South East London .Originally from Wigan in Lancashire he moved to London in the late 70's with his family at the time he was performing with the Scunthorpe based band the Instant Automatons www.instant-automatons.com . He was instrumental in forming several other punk/new wave/indie bands in the London area and featured on many independant releases during the 80's Angst In My Pants http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKRpCD-pJMk being just one of those .His solo efforts have attracted interest from John Peel and had airplay on his late night radio 1 show during this period,Mics self penned "Motorway" and "Why" held a top ten spot in the Melody Maker indie charts in early 80's. other projects that have kept him busy as a guitarist and also songwriter were as follows : The Unknown Colours 1980-88,Sister Mary Elephant1988-1995,SME 1995- The current band he is most associated with is the Elephant Brothers and the Savage Peanut recording label [see links below ]
