Michael Steven (Australian Footballer)
Michael Steven (born 01 July 1975) is a Semi-Pro Australian rules football player from the Canberra district, Australia. Michael currently plays for the Woden Blues football club in the AFL Canberra Division 3 League.
AFL Canberra Career
[edit]Michael "Googs" was an instant success, kicking 6 goals in the opening round against Belconnen[1], for the Woden Blues 2014 Season. Michael provided a leading target up forward for the Woden Blues heading into the 2014 Final series. He is one of few successful Semi-Pro footballers to have been elevated from the Woden Blues ranks. Michael is a cult figure at the Woden Blues Football Club and a highly popular player with younger recruits. This popularity has earned him the nickname "Googs". Michael is also a recognised leader of Woden's younger playing group. The 2015 season will test Michael financially and mentally as he finds a Strapping tape sponsor to ensure his success continues through the next season and to just hold his body together.
Personal Life and Family
[edit]It's Michael's off field antics that have attracted attention of recent times which has force Michael to open his very own person Facebook account, with the possibility of purchasing a smart phone. Michael is also a distant cousin to ex-AFL star Brendan Fevola.
