Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, a residential school for girls, was founded in 1956 by late Her Highness Rajmata of Gwalior, Shrimant Vijayaraje Scindia. The Rajmata, a strong promoter of the cause of women’s education, felt the necessity of a premier institution in Gwalior where young girls would receive the best modern Indian education. The school embodies her vision of providing wholesome education in an increasingly competitive world.
The institution has been set up by the Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya Society, an autonomous non-profit foundation which is a registered charitable trust functioning through a Board of Governors. The members are of assorted standing and proven managerial ability.
Vision And Aim
Envisioned as a progressive school Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya provides a high standard of education to equip young girls to be good citizens, to cope with challenges in day-to-day life, and learn skills to tackle opportunities as well as odds. All courses are planned and devised to satisfy the intellectual curiosity of the youngsters. The integrative perspective of modern education encourages the students to question and to explore, to analyse and adopt a scientific attitude to life. Blending tradition with modernity, Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya inculcates in the students enduring social and moral values.
