Not sure why there is a conflict of interest. Jim McGroddy was a notable American physicist and the head of IBM Research until he retired in 1997. I was a researcher there overlapping his tenure but did not really get to know him until many years after both of us had retired from IBM.
He is already referenced in Wikipedia due to the James C. McGroddy Price for New Materials awarded by the American Physical Society but there is no biographical information in Wikipedia about James C. McGroddy himself and I would like to correct that. I have nothing to gain nor am I being paid.
