I am James David Gawn, usually known as Jim, born 1955 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. I currently live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. I am married, with two children, both in their twenties.

Residence: Various farms in southern County Antrim, 1955-76; West Drayton, 1976-78; Coventry, 1978-79; Hemel Hempstead, 1979-81; Lancaster (PA), 1981-present.

Education: Dunamuggy Primary School 1960-66; Ballyclare High School, 1966-73; Lancaster University, 1973-76 (BA, Mathematics and Philosophy); Polytechnic of Central London, 1978-81 part-time (Diploma in Management Studies); Villanova University, 1985-88 part-time (MS, Computer Science).

Employment: Rank Xerox 1976-81; Pennsylvania Blue Shield 1981-84; Millersville University 1984-98; Diversified Data Services 1998-99; Wonderware 1999-2001; Information Services Group 2001-2007; independent consultant 2007-2011; tapestry technologies 2011-present. For almost all of my career I have been involved in the development of business/administrative computer applications and databases.

Interests: Current affairs; Computing topics; History, especially Irish; Geography; Language and Linguistics; Mathematics and Science; Engineering, especially the human process of creating new things. In the past I have also been a cyclist, a jogger and, to a limited extent, a hiker. Now, I'm just overweight.
