Jhovanny Martes Rosario, a devoted husband and father of three, was born on May 18, 1974, in Santiago, Dominican Republic. From a young age, Jhovanny harbored a passion for writing, a pursuit that would shape his life and career. Over the years, he emerged as a versatile professional with accomplishments in public service, education, journalism, and document preparation, all of which reflect his commitment to community and family.
Jhovanny’s career began in 2004 when he became the Director of the Community Language Learning Center. Over six years, he designed language programs, trained staff, managed budgets, and built partnerships to support the community’s diverse linguistic needs. Shifting to legal services in 2010, he served as a Freelance Legal Interpreter for Geneva Worldwide, Inc. in Manhattan, New York, where he handled complex legal conversations and document translations.
In 2010, Jhovanny transitioned to the YWCA of Greater Lawrence as a Front Desk Clerk, where he welcomed guests, managed transactions, and handled sensitive calls with care. His commitment to education was further demonstrated as a Spanish and STEM teacher at Community Day Arlington and Esperanza Academy, where he developed curricula, tutored students, and assisted with standardized testing to foster student growth and literacy.
From 2011 to 2013, Jhovanny reported for SIGLO 21 and Lawrence Vale Newspaper, covering local news, interviewing community leaders, and attending events to keep the Lawrence community informed. In 2018, he began his political journey as a Legislative Aide at the Massachusetts State House, supporting legislative duties, researching issues, and assisting constituents. In 2021, Jhovanny became the Mayor’s Assistant at Lawrence City Hall, overseeing critical administrative functions, constituent matters, and supporting the mayor's decision-making. This role highlighted his organizational skills and dedication to effective public service.
In 2023, Jhovanny launched JJJ Document Preparation in Lawrence, MA, to assist clients with immigration services, legal document preparation, translation, notarization, and English lessons. Notably, he emphasized that he did not provide legal advice but relied on publicly available resources and official materials to support clients.
