David Astle (born 1961 in Sydney, Australia) is the author of the novels Marzipan Plan (1986) and The Book of Miles (1987), and the travel guide Cassowary Crossing: A Guide to Offbeat Australia. He is also the creator of cryptic crosswords and the Wordwit puzzle for The Sydney Morning Herald and Brisbane's The Courier-Mail.
