Leon Garland was a prominent American artist who lived from 1896 through 1941. He was born in Bobroisk, Ukraine and immigrated to the United States and settled in Chicago in 1913.
He studied at Chicago's Art Instituteand Hull House. He later taught at the Hull House.
His work "The Blacksmith" hangs in the Illinois State Museum as part of its Works Progress Administration(WPA)Collection.
