POWER OF PRAYER Key Verse: ..praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saint - Ephesians 6:18(NKJV) 3 Essential Benefits when we pray: 1) Prayer gives us guidance to make wise decisions.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you..”—James 1:5(NIV)

"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. - John 16;13 (NIV)

2) Prayer helps us avoid temptation. “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”- Luke 22:40(NIV)

"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” - Mark 14:38(NIV)

3) Prayer strengthens our faith.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. - Mark 11:24(NIV)

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. -1 John 5:14(NIV)

Conclusion: We should always seek to make requests according to God’s desires and ask Him to block anything that interferes with His will for our lives. And as we faithfully pray, He will give us a discerning spirit to know the truth and insight we need for our lives.
