Crown Point High School
[edit]Crown Point High School is located in Crown Point, Indiana just south of the town square. This was not always the case, up until 2003 the high school was located right in the town square; which is now the location of the brand new middle school. Here is the site with a list of maps and plans before they actually built the new middle school. The new Crown Point High School was designed for the growing student population that Crown Point High School was receiving.
The High School is a public school and home to approximately 2,423 students with about 27 students per teacher. [1] Crown Point High School has grown from its modest origins to one of the largest comprehensive high schools in Indiana. The current facility, which was featured in American School and University Architectural Portfolio as an Outstanding High School Design, opened to students in the fall of 2003. Due to expansive growth, the high school opened a new academic wing in 2009 that increased the school’s capacity to 3000 students. [2] The high school has a traditional schedule, meaning they have six to seven periods per day every day. [3] Crown Point residents who live in Center Township are served by the Crown Point Community School Corporation. Public schools in Crown Point are administered by the Crown Point Community School Corporation. Rivals of Crown Point High School include Merrillville High School, Portage High School, Hobart High School, Lake Central High School, and Hanover Central High School. Here is the Crown Point High Schools main site that can keep you updated every day with new information on sports and academics.

Sports
[edit]Crown Point High School tries to create a way for their students to become part of a team to serve their school, enjoy the company of others, and develop social intellectualism. Crown Point athletic families will endeavor to provide each participant with positive experiences that will help them develop their own ideas toward commitment, responsibility, and loyalty which will guide them for post-school competition in society. To win is an important factor, but not more important than the welfare of the student and their fellow students. Crown Point High School takes a lot of pride in their sports system. [6]
The students of Crown Point High School have been dressing up for games for years and years. This is just a fun way for them to interact with the sports and get everyone involved.
