Career:

Career Beginnings and Sweetest (2013-2014) Jay began her career in January of 2013 when she started posting song covers on her YouTube channel titled "JaySings99". She posted covers of Lady Gaga, P!NK, Adele, Amy Winehouse and various other female artists in the industry. She had said in one of her videos that she was heavily into pop music and aspired to be like the singers that she sung song covers of one day. On 13 July 2013, Jay posted her first original song titled "sweetest", the song went viral overnight and #whoisjay? and #jaysweetest was trending on twitter. She was approached by various record deal companies, including Atlantic Records, but Jay turned them down as she would want full creative control, and not have record companies tell her what to sing and do. Eventually, in August 2013, a company called Darkroom Interscope Records, a company finding new, young and alternative artists asked her if she would sign with them, and promised her full creative control. Jay agreed and she set out to record her song "sweetest" professionally. The song came out digitally and on CD on 13 December 2013 onto her new music channel "Jay" a more professional account. She released a music video for the song on the same day, gaining over 50,000 likes within the first two hours of publication. Jay promised more music and and EP by the end of 2014. In January 2014, Jay published a lyric video for "sweetest".

The Lonely Room (2014-2015) Jay launched her website in February 2014, titled "Jay.com", the website sold sweetest merch and other various mugs, CDs and pens.
