Yasmine Esfandiary is an Iranian born artist who is amongst a growing number of Persian artists gaining international attention. Esfandiary's work is found amongst her contemporaries such as Farhad Moshiri. Esfandiary's work has recently appeared at Christie's Philips de Pury and Sotheby's. Her new series entitled Resplendant has created a dialogue involving the influence of the Western world on her Middle East origins. The series involves a mixture of striking colors and Middle Eastern symbols, which Esfandiary is most well known for. Esfandiary history has been a notable influence on the diversity of her work [1].
Education
[edit]Esfandiary attended École supérieure d'art à Paris from 1971-1973 followed by the famed Rhode Island School of Design from 1973-1976.
