James P. Farrell is a Management Consultant at JP Farrell & Associates, Inc. After achieving Ph.D. candidacy in Economics at the University of Michigan, he spent ten years in field of transportation. As an economist for the U.S. Department of Transportation he conducted research in support of the Motor Carrier Act of 1980, which deregulated the U.S. trucking industry. Thereupon he worked on the executive staffs of two transportation companies, IU International and Schneider National.
His consulting career began in 1989 at Cleveland Consulting Associates, where he was promoted to the office of vice president prior to joining AT Kearney in 1995. There he continued his work in supply chain strategy and operations and was elected vice president in the consumer products and retail practice.
More recently he has been engaged in the development of integrated business planning and product lifecycle management techniques for the consumer products, food service and retail industries.
