The Bruneian nationality is governed by the Brunei Nationality Act.
Acquisition of citizenship
[edit]By birth Any person with ethnic ties to Brunei as well as being born in the territory, during the formation of Brunei and their descendants, whether born in Brunei or not are considered subjects of His Majesty, the Sultan and therefore citizens of the country.
Naturalisation
[edit]Any person who naturalises as a Bruneian national must renounce any foreign loyalty and swear an oath.[1]
