File permission problem with File:Institute finished.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Institute finished.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. JDavid (talk) 14:10, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Lyxor Asset Management
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Lyxor Asset Management requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. SummerPhD (talk) 14:49, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Request for use of Suckale08 fig3 glucose insulin day.jpg
[edit]Hi Jakob. Thank you so much for all that you have contributed to Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Commons! I found your image Suckale08 fig3 glucose insulin day.jpg on the blood glucose article particularly helpful. I've incorporated a small piece of a modified version of it into a one-page document to be used in health screenings in underserved communities. (A png of a draft can be found [here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/652502/draft%201.png]) Given the nature of the work, I would like to make it available for use with the absolute minimum number of restrictions possible by releasing it into the public domain. I think my version of the graph is different enough that that would be a fair use, but I thought I would see how you felt about it and ask for your blessing. Obviously, I will credit you myself wherever possible, but I don't want to give anyone who might use the sheet for some public health work to have the slightest legal concern. Thanks again for all your contributions! mcs (talk) 04:12, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hi mcs, I couldn't view the file you created. But I'm fine with what you want to do. I typically chose CC-by-sa since I think the origin of the work should be traceable to check the science behind. I would love to hear why you think CC0 is more suitable. Do you have real life examples where CC-by-sa caused problems. --— J.S.talk 10:42, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Jakob. Thanks for your response. Sorry about the bad link. The file is now available here. I don't have a real-life example of CC-BY-SA being a problem; I just want to encourage (re)use as much as possible, so I wanted to err on the side of not spooking people with any copyright issues at all. On the other hand, I definitely see your point about tracing the science, so the image page includes complete attribution, and I might go ahead and put a URL directly in the image in case someone decides they really want to verify the sources. Thanks again, and definitely let me know if you're still ok with the licensing. mcs (talk) 17:01, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hi mcs. I had a look at the diagram you made. Very nice work. By all means, go ahead with CC0. --— J.S.talk 18:58, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you! We'll be using the form at screenings this year, and your contribution will be extremely helpful in explaining what the results mean and hopefully improving some people's health. mcs (talk) 19:43, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
