Jagveer Vikal Vidhyak MLC (Gurjar) is an Indian Politician and a member of Uttar Pradesh legislative council from Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad Distt. during 1989-1995. Contested Lok Sabha elections in 2004 from Baghpat constituency U.P. as a candidate of Congress Party. Chairman of Freedom Fighter Dr. Ram Chandra Vikal National Memorial Trust. Member of all India Freedom Fighter Successor Association.

Active member of Congress (I) since childhood. He had been active in social activities as a student & had been a member of Student Union for several years. He had inherited legacy of Congress ideology from his father – Late Sri Ram Chandra Vikal Ji who had been very active Congressman and worked for the upliftment of the villagers & villages. He is deeply committed to the idea of education & work for all to bring India at par with developed nations of the world.He have travelled extensively in all the States of India with the then General Secretary A.I.C.C Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi Ji and travelled more particularly in States like U.P., M.P., H.P, J&K, Rajasthan and Maharashtra to promote the manifesto and policies of Congress Party, especially during elections. During the Janata regime in 1977-78, He had worked for the cause of Congress Party. He was very active in the “Jail Bharo Andolan” in his native District i.e. Bullandshahar under the inspiration of Mrs. Indira Gandhi Ji.

Father's Name and Profile: Late Dr Ram chandra Vikal was a renowned Freedom Fighter and mass leader of farmers as well as labourers who worked for their upliftment and cause. During the leadership of Smt. Indira Gandhi Ji, Shri Rajiv Gandhi Ji and Shri P.V. Narsingh Rao Ji, he was the member of Working Committee of AICC continuously from 1977 to 1991. He was President of All India Backward Classes Cell of Congress in 1967. He was Vice-President of Pradesh Congress Committee of Uttar Pradesh in 1972. He was the Chairman of Assurance Committee, U.P. Legislative Assembly in 1970-71.

He was a Member of Jila Panchyat from Bisrakh, Tehsil- Dadri, Distt- Gautam Budh Nagar and also held the post of Chairman of Education Committee from 1946 to 1950.  He became Member of First Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh from 1952 to 1971 continuously from Dadri and Sikandrabad Vidhan Sabha Constituency alternately (Both Constituencies fall under Gautam Budh Nagar Lok Sabha). It was a truly a great honour for his father to hoist our National Flag on Bisrakh Thana by lowering Union Jack of British at same point of time when Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Ji had hoisted National Flag of India at ramparts of Red Fort on 15th August, 1947.  He held the office of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Forests, Animal Husbandry, Excise, Jail, Fisheries, Agriculture and Irrigation respectively.   He was a Member of Parliament of Fifth Lok Sabha from Baghpat U.P. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha from April, 1984 to 1990. He was also the Chairman of State Farm Corporation of India (Central Govt. State Minister Status) from March, 1982 to April 1984. He was also the Member of AICC from 1958 to 1971.  He had been the Member of Estimates Committee of U.P. Assembly for two years.  He was the Member of Standing Committee of Irrigation, Power and Finance.  He was at the Panel of Chairman, U.P. Legislative Assembly from 1969 to 1970.  He was Member of Business Advisory Committee, Rajya Sabha from 1984 to 1985.  He was elected Leader of S.V.D. and Leader of Opposition, U.P. Legislative Assembly, 1967. He was the Chairman of All India Kisan Congress.
