Texas Education code

[edit]

The Texas Education Code is the statutory law enacted by the Texas state legislature that regulates the Texas public school system. Specifically, it creates the Texas Education Agency (which acts as the statewide government body), establishes school districts, provides funding to school safety and resource initiatives, and sets up the University of Texas System and the University of Texas A&M System along with laws applicable to some other colleges that receive public funding.[1] The code was enacted in 1969 and revised again in 1971 by HB 534, 61st R.S. and HB 1657, 62nd R.S. respectively during the ongoing revision process begun in 1963.
