Jack Parlabane is a frustrated photographer/writer/musician from a small town on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland. He could be described as being anally retentive, and has mild obsessive compulsions in regards to accurate, easily accessible information...which is why he tends to be lurking on Wikipedia.
As previously mentioned, My interests include photography and writing (I have a Bachelors degree in Photography and English (with honours) from the University of Wolverhampton).
For two years I was the lead/rhythm guitarist in the West Midlands band SaturdaySunday for whom I also provided keyboards, harmonica, backing vocals and songwriting. I left the band in 2005 to return to my home town of Barrhead.
I'm also a great fan of sport, especially association football.
I'm currently trying to learn French with mixed results so far, after having learned German at secondary school.
My user name is taken from the eponymous character, created by the novelist Christopher Brookmyre, who grew up in the same town as me, Barrhead. I would later go on to attend the same secondary school as actor David Tennant.
I'm an enthusiastic if not entirely competent musician, tending to move on to start learning a new instrument without mastering the first. I also try desperately to write great song, without much success so far.
As previously mentioned, I was a member of a rock band formed with some university friends. We recorded a demo CD of three tracks, and played several gigs, but feeling that we weren't really getting anywhere, I decided to cut my losses and return to my hometown. With my recent acquisition of a suitable PC, I will hopefully be recording some of my own material this year.
