The Newton Town Plot Historic District is a 17.20-acre historic district located in the downtown section of Newton, the county seat of Sussex County, New Jersey in the United States. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 12 November 1992.

The boundaries of the Newton Town Plot Historic District are based on the "Town Plot" surveyed by Jonathan Hampton in 1762. The district includes 64 properties, of which 56 contribute to the historical integrity and architectural character of the district. It includes historic buildings and a number of historical and Victorian homes. Some significant structures are among those located within the Historic District including the Sussex County Courthouse and .
