Geishecker's was a department store, based in Dedham, Massachusetts. Established in 1896 by J.A. Geishecker, it expanded to multiple locations before closing in 1984.
Geishecker's started as a Dry Goods general merchant in the mill section of Dedham, before moving to the more fashionable Dedham Village, cateering to affluent Suburban Boston Customer. The business was regionally recognized for exceptional customer service and traditional conservative styles. Similar stores in Suburban Boston included: Glover Cronin (Waltham), Olkin's (Wellesley), Remick's (Quincy), and Orent Brothers (Norwood).
Dispite attempts to compete with malls and chain specialty and department stores, Geishecker's was unable to match the resources of larger national chains.
