Mockingbird Hill is a residential neighborhood in northwest San Antonio. Often grouped together with the adjacent South Texas Medical Center, it is in fact a distinct part of the larger Medical Center district.
The community is home to the the Northwest Campus of University of the Incarnate Word and its Rosenberg School of Optometry. The Art Institute of San Antonio and a local campus for the University of Phoenix are also located here.
The neighborhood is home to several notable enterprises including Texas Public Radio, Kindred Hospital, Promised Land Dairy, local holdings for Cox Radio, and the studios for TV station KENS5. Mockingbird Hill formerly hosted the headquarters of Rackspace before its relocation to Windcrest. A variety of hospital and other health related business are also based here.
The area is home to San Antonio's Denman Estate Park and its Pavillion of Gwang-Ju, which was donated by the city's sister city of Kwangju, South Korea.
Mockingbird Hill is notable for its high proportion of apartments and condominiums compared to the rest of San Antonio.
Via Transit's propose Primo Bus Rapid Transit system will run along Fredericksburg Road, servicing the neighborhood.
