Robert "Bob" Rizzo is an artist, arts and culture administrator, and a major catalyst in the Rhode Island underground arts scene.[1] [2] His work fostered the beginnings of major Rhode Island arts institutions AS220 and WaterFire.[3][4]

Rizzo was the former cultural affairs officer for the Providence, Rhode Island Parks Department. In 1988, he developed the Covergence International Arts festival at Roger Williams Park; Convergence was the first host of the internationally renowned art-event WaterFire.[5]

His work has been exhibited at Newport Art Museum, Warwick Art Museum, [6]Rhode Island School of Design, Mobius Artists Group, and the New England Arts Biennial.
