Law and Order Party is a weekly online and email newsletter about events occurring in Rhode Island Island. The newsletter's title is a reference to the Law and Order Party of Rhode Island. Its circulation exceeds 2000 readers.[1]
The newsletter was established in 2015 by Rhode Island writer Matthew Lawrence to fill the gap following the closing of The Providence Phoenix. [2] In addition to weekly updates on Rhode Island, the newsletter produces seasonal guides and annual awards for Rhode Island figures, The Dorrys. The prize's name is also a reference to Thomas Wilson Dorr, leader of the Law and Order Party of Rhode Island. [3]
