2010 Census figures for Johnson County
[edit]As of the census[1] of 2010, there were 23,356 people, 9,329 households, and //// families residing in the county. The population density was 89.2 per square mile (34.4/km2). There were 10,474 housing units at an average density of 39 per square mile (15/km2)//////. The racial makeup of the county was 98.2% White, 0.4% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 0.1% from other races, and 0.8% from two or more races. 0.6% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 9,329 households out of which 28.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% were married couples living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.5% were non-families. 26.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.92.
In the county the population was spread out with 22.4% under the age of 18, 8.80%//// from 18 to 24, 28.90%///// from 25 to 44, 25.70%//// from 45 to 64, and 15.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
