Jonathan Gibbs (/ˈdʒɑnəθən ˈɡɪbz/; born November 31, 1971) is an Academy Award winning American Visual Effects artist.
Early Life
[edit]Gibbs was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1971 to Bonnie and David Gibbs. His mother taught High School History, while his father taught Math and Physics at Principia College. Gibbs graduated from Principia College in 1994[1].
Career
[edit]During his tenure at DreamWorks Animation, Gibbs worked on movies such as Antz (1998), Shrek (2001), How to Train Your Dragon (2010), and Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014).[2] He most notably won an Academy Award for his technological achievement in designing and using the DreamWorks Animation Foliage System.[3]
