Chima Uzoma Ndubuisi Onyekwere (birthdate 19th May 1961), hails from Amachara in Umuahia South Local Government of Abia State. Is the Father of the Nigerian Internet, an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON)[1]., and a Fellow of the Computer Society of Nigeria (FNCS)[2], . A technology Entrepreneur, Innovator, Christian and a family man. Chairman of the following organisations: Linkserve Ltd (https://linkserve.net/ ), Saap-Tech Ltd (https://saaptechafrica.com/ ), Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN)[3] and Chairman BOT of Nigeria Internet Association of Nigeria (NiRA)[4].
Education
[edit]Chima went to Secondary School at Federal Government College Kano. He obtained a degree from the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University (Bsc). A Masters in Information Technology- Information Assurance from University of Maryland University College, Maryland USA (Msc). A post graduate professional management education for Chief Executives from Lagos Business School Lagos (CEP3) and Harvard Business School (OPM 30), Boston USA. An Alumnus of Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School.
Career
[edit]Chima started his professional work career in Mobil Producing unlimited in the Exploration Department. But driven by his quest to explore the emerging opportunities in the nascent Information Technology Industry he established and ran Saap-Tech Nigeria Limited (www.saaptechafrica.com). Born Innovator, he championed the internet revolution in Nigeria in 1995 by establishing the first Internet Service Providing (ISP) company called Linkserve (www.linkserve.net ). He is currently involved in mentoring of young entrepreneurs, Community Service, seating on high profile boards and looking for the next Technology opportunity.
