Administrative

[edit]

Please note that many of these questions are already answered in the help pages.

Q: Why did you revert my edit?

A: It might have been vandalism or otherwise inappropriate. I'll usually leave a message on your talk page explaining the reason. If you believe the edit was legitimate, please leave a message on my talk page.

Q: Why was I blocked?

A: Again, you should have received an explanation on your talk page. If you didn't do anything wrong, then it's likely that you share an IP address with someone else who was blocked. You can contact me or request to be unblocked.

Q: Why did you delete the article about <subject> from Wikipedia?

A: It was probably for a good reason. You can usually find more details in the deletion log. If you don't think the article should have been deleted, please discuss it with me or request a deletion review.

Q: Can you prevent the article about <subject> from getting deleted?

A: As an administrator, I still have to follow the consensus of other contributors. I cannot make something happen "because I want to." This is especially true if there is a conflict of interest.

Q: How do I become an administrator?

A: Please see the RfA page.

Q: Someone wrote something bad about me on a page that was deleted. Can you show me what was there?

A: Sure, as long as it wasn't removed for legal reasons.

Personal

[edit]

Q: Who are you?

A: If you're some random person who decided to randomly IM me, then you should be asking yourself the same question. :-)

Q: Do you have a picture of yourself?

A: Yes, on Facebook and Flickr.

Q: Just what the heck does "Ixfd64" mean?

A: I loved Final Doom as a teenager. The game's home page was located at http://teamtnt.com/ixfd.htm on TeamTNT's now-defunct website. At the time, I really liked the letters "ixfd" for some reason. The Final Doom package had a total of 64 levels, and 64 seemed like a cool number.[note 1] I sometimes spell my username with a lowercase "i" so people don't misread it as "Lxfd64."[note 2]

Q: Where can I learn more about you?

A: That's what Facebook is for. :-)

Notes

[edit]
  1. ^ I blame Nintendo 64 for starting the trend.
  2. ^ That happens all the time.
