Early Background
[edit]Tiffany Moníque was born in Nashville[1], Tennessee to Martha Ann & Jerry Lee Marshall. Upon her parents divorce in the late 1980's, Tiffany relocated to Newark, New Jersey to live with her mother. She entered her first talent show at the age of 9 years old, performing "You Give Good Love" by Whitney Houston. She was also very active in her church choir and served as a member, featured soloist and Music Director at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Newark. She was also one of the founding members of Unified Praise, a local gospel ensemble. As some of the group's older members moved on to college, the group slowly dissolved.
In 1995, Tiffany left her hometown to attend Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland on a full music scholarship. There, she has the opportunity to travel around the world as a member and soloist of the Morgan State University Choir, directed by Nathan Carter. One of her personal accomplishments during this time included performing a solo during Pope John Paul VI's visit to the Camden Yards (Baltimore) in 1996.
