History

IP editor from the Detroit area who has engaged in a long-standing campaign of focused tendentious editing to establish their point of view in articles. The user originally used an IP linked to the Kalamazoo Public Library, which was blocked due to an unrelated user's vandalism. This user then began editing using a frequently-changing mobile IP based in the Detroit area, and occasionally continues editing while travelling across the country.

In early 2014, a number of uninvolved administrators opened a dialogue with the user to resolve the longstanding tendentious editing issues, and encourage the user to create an account. The user participated in the discussion but was ultimately uninterested in creating an account, and insisted that their edits were to defend Wikipedia against outside corrupt influences, and that they intended to continue doing so.

Behavior

Tendentious editing in climate change related articles:
- Overlinking both global warming and climate change whenever either phrase is mentioned
- Linking scientific opinion on climate change whenever any opinion is mentioned, against consensus, even when very loosely related
- Spamming external links to 350.org in all climate change articles, and anywhere else the number 350 appears in an article
Creates nonstandard "also see" sections in articles (rather than "See also")
Adds redlinks to random words where they are not appropriate, and removes appropriate redlinks
Overlinks articles by randomly linking words, frequently violating WP:EGG and sometimes linking every word in a sentence
Uses {{ill}} template to make interlanguage links where a subject merely exists, whether or not the interlink is logical
Dumps raw links on talk pages without providing any context or explanation for their use or relevance
Spams external links in edit summaries
Thanks users who revert their edits
