Mi hermano y yo Vallenato y Folclore are a Colombian Australian folk band formed in Sydney in 2017. Their music has been described as groovy and uplifting.
Mi hermnano y yo has participated in several festivals and music events all around Australia, some of those include the National multicultural Festival, living cultures Festival, Grassroots and many other Colombian independence celebrations around Australia.
Formation
[edit]The band comprises seven members – Lead singer Ivan Caceres, Accordion players Jorge Caceres and Pablo Upegui, Bass player Roger Gonzalez, Percussionist Ricardo Perez, Cristhian Caceres as sound person and during the second semester of 2019 lead singer and guitar player Sebastian Hatum joined the band.
Career
[edit]Mi hermano y yo has been performing extensively throughout their career, predominantly in Sydney where they are well recognized for their typical Parranda Vallenata o Parrandon vallenato as Colombians called this party. They have also been interviewed by SBS News Australia and Enlace TV in Colombia made a special report about their participation in the National Multicultural festival 2019.
