The Landmark-North Fairlington Line, designated as Route 7A, is a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Pentagon station of the Blue and Yellow lines of the Washington Metro and Van Dorn Street station of the Blue line of the Washington Metro with select weekend trips terminating at Southern Towers. The line operates every 12-20 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on weekends.
Background
[edit]Route 7A operates between Van Dorn Street station and Pentagon station via Pentagon City station. Select weekday trips and post-midnight trips will only operate to Southern Towers and not Van Dorn Street. Earlier weekday trips will also not serve Pentagon City.
The Route also runs similarly West End Transitway, and proposed Dash Bus Rapid Transit Line.[1]

History
[edit]The line began service as the Lincolnia-North Fairlington Line. Route 7M operated under the line until June 26, 1983 when it became the Mark Center-Pentagon Line and got replaced by routes 7D, 7E, 7W, 7X, 8W, & 8X.[2]
Route 7Y
[edit]The 7Y began in December 2010 (with route 16F) replacing routes 13A and 13B. The route was basically an extension of route 7E.[3] On August 24, 2014, the route was extended to the Washington Convention Center but was truncated to Farragut Square on March 26, 2016.[4]
On August 23, 2020, Route 7F service on North Morgan Street and North Chambliss Street was eliminated.[5]
Elimination of Route 7Y and 7F and service changes
[edit]On September 5, 2021, routes 7Y and 7F were eliminated. Alongside that, route 7A (and 25B) was rerouted between Southern Towers and Van Dorn Street station. Service to Lincolnia was replaced by DASH route 35.[6]
