Biography

[edit]
  • The first video who got him worldwide attention was "Billie Jean". Most viewed is "Careless Whisper". Previously he went on local news on a Russian TV channel where he performed his Guitar + Pen Tapping Song.
  • There is a good interview in Russian where he mentions his ability to play even right handed from the time where he was in a band. Also, in the same interview he mention his studies.
  • Mention Ted talk.

Style and influence

[edit]
  • Jon Gomm, Thomas Leeb and Preston Reed. Mentioned multiple times in his videos. Don Ross was -according to an interview- his first inspiration.
  • Tapping was inspired by Preston Reed, he dedicated his song "Rain & Thunderstorm" to him (probably a tribute to Tractor Pull, finding the sources will be difficult).
  • His "Dubsteb wobble" was inspired by the channel "Haythem Music", it's very noticeable in his original song "Imprisoned" and "It's my life".
  • The chopstick technique was taken by Brazilian guitarist Eduardo Agni and used for the first time in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" cover.
  • The bridge he uses to simulate a "harp" guitar is the Passerelle Bridge, created by guitarist Kaki King.
  • His first publicly available song with vocals is The Real Slim Shady.
  • He makes extensive use of scratches, percussions, all kind of harmonics and tapping in his technique.

Equipment

[edit]

Guitars

[edit]

In 2017, Misko announced his new guitar, a Baton Rouge X10S/OMCE Suzanna.[2]

Notes

[edit]
  • Equipment used from the very beginning until the "Faded" release (especially the guitar with the red scratchpad). Note that at the very beginning he used a classical guitar which looks similar, but had nylon strings.
  • Later on, he filmed using a Baton Rouge X10S/OMCE Suzanna. At the same time but only sporadically in videos, he used a Lowden Jon Gomm Signature Guitar.
  • His last guitar is a prototype of a Baton Rouge, specifically his Signature edition.
  • In the video made for the Tobias Rauscher Masterclass he talks specifically about his rig, pedalboard...
  • "It's my life" it's the first song where he made use of the Keith Banjo D-Tuners. Used extensively from here after.
  • Fishman Rare Earth Blend pickup (main), previously K&K ones. Multiple pickups (K&K?) for percussions and scratches, Ernie Ball strings, G7 capos (mostly).
  • Tonewoodamp, though only for practice and never on stage. He mentioned that either in a video or in a comment, obviously better source is needed.

Discography

[edit]
  • Many videos are released exclusively on YouTube, especially early covers.
