PAJ GPS is a German company, based in Windeck, that develops and sells GPS trackers with an integrated SIM card. They count with a wide range of products, from pet locators to car GPS trackers. Officially, the company was founded back in 2011 with the Easy Finder as their very first product.

The original idea of creating a GPS tracker was born as a brainstorm from the two founders, Alex Sarellas and Jakob Lindner, while they were in college.

PAJ GPS offer tracker solutions for different applications, from trackers for cars to people and pets, and their devices can connect to the 2G and 4G network in more than 100 countries.

History

The company started with an SMS tracking system that used the mobile phone network to transmit location data. A SIM card was needed to be inserted into the device and the relevant phone number called in order to receive the GPS tracker's current position data.

Later, the location could also be retrieved by text message. This could include additional information such as speed and battery level. However, each call or text message incurred a separate cost, depending on the mobile phone tariff chosen. In addition, the locations were only transmitted selectively.

After a while, the PAJ Tracking portal was created in 2014 using a third-party provider, where current location data could be viewed and alarms managed directly.Four years later, the company’s own FINDER portal was launched in 2018.

This new type of GPS tracking, in combination with the additionally connected app, allows the user to call up the current position of their GPS tracker at any time and from anywhere in the world, analyse routes travelled and set alarms.

In 2019, PAJ discontinued the sale of GPS devices with SMS localisation, and nowadays, each device have a SIM card integrated.
