Joemeek is a brand of audio equipment introduced in 1993 by former musician and session singer Ted Fletcher. The line is named after Joe Meek, a music producer who pioneered Audio level compression as a recording technique in the 1960s. Fletcher had worked with Meek for several years in the 1960s.[1]

Introduced in 1993, the original product line consisted of compressors, limiters, equalizers and preamps aimed at professional recording studios. The products quickly became legendary for their distinctive sound characteristics, sturdy build quality, and unusual green/black colour scheme. Their most popular product was the SC2 compressor.

In 2003, Fletcher sold the product line and rights to the Joemeek name to the PMI Audio Group. Alan Hyatt, president of PMI, availed the services of Malcolm Toft to design two new low-cost products around the existing Joemeek optical compressor circuit: the ThreeQ preamp/compressor/channel strip, and the MC2 stereo buss compressor. Other products continued to be offered for sale, or were revised. Manufacturing was moved to China.

Numerous new Joemeek products have since been introduced, and have received positive recception in the audio industry.
