Hi, I'm Immcarle8 and I am a sophomore at Carleton College. I love art, cooking and figure skating. I am interested in cancer biology and immunotherapy.
I will be working on:
- MHC restriction
- This article is a stub and did not have any citation of reliable sources. There is a lot of potentially important information that can be added to this article.
- The idea of MHC restriction is very interesting, intriguing and essential to the understanding of various immune disease such as celiac disease.

Hi, I was assigned to peer-review your article on MHC restriction. It's clear you've done a lot of very thorough research on the subject; you have plenty of citations and I saw that you added a huge amount of useful material to the page – it certainly isn't a stub anymore. I like how in-depth you've gone about the different theories about how this arose, and I like the way you've tied it to T cell development and given some background on this.
My main suggestion would be that you provide more general background and context for the reader. As it is, the article opens assuming the reader knows all about T cells and MHC molecules. Some background, like talking about why these are important in the immune system, would give your reader an easier place to start and make the article easier to follow for people who haven't taken immunology courses. You could give some brief explanation of what different types of T cells do, how this relates to MHC, and why anyone should care about MHC molecules. There is plenty of great description of how MHC restriction might have arisen developmentally/evolutionarily, all of which is fine, but if I didn't already know about MHC, I wouldn't understand why MHC restriction is important. This would make your article more accessible to a general reader.
As far as the small details go, I noticed a few grammar and spelling errors in the first paragraph of your "germline model" subsection. You say "This is because of evolutionary pressure selects for TCRs that are capable of biding to MHC." There's a syntax issue in the first part of that sentence "because of evolutionary pressure selects..." and I think you meant to say "binding" not "biding." I wasn't sure what you were trying to say in this sentence: However it has also been shown that T cell selection in the thymus and periphery T cell repertoire is independent of germline TCR sequence, arguing against the hypothesis that MHC restriction is intrinsic to germline TCR sequences." In the Reconciliation subsection, I was confused by this sentence: "Since T cells with the ability to bind MHC are selected for during positive selection in the thymus, evolutionary pressure acts on the germline TCR sequence selecting for MHC binding TCRs." I think that explaining the connection you're making in that sentence more thoroughly would be helpful. It seems like one of the major points of that subsection, so it would be great to clarify it a bit.
All in all, though, I thought your additions were thoroughly researched and well-explained. Nice job!
