Martin College Pennsylvania Area College Center (PACC) was one of six higher education institutions established in 1946 by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to serve returning veterans ("G.I.'s") of World War II who were overwhelming the existing colleges and universities. Martin was referred to as an emergency area college or college center and was based in Philadelphia, PA. The plan was to keep the veterans in school until they could gain admission to one of the regular colleges.[1]
Martin College was named for Pennyslvania's Governor at the time, Edward Martin.
KYW AM offered a course in radio through Martin College in 1948.[2]
