Charles 'Charlie' Zhang

Charles 'Charlie' Zhang was the original founder of Pick Up Stix, an American leading Asian casual dining restaurant chain in the country. In addition, he is the founder of Aseptic Solutions USA.

History

In 1980, he immigrated to the United States in from Shanghai, China at the age of 25. He did not speak English and had only $20 dollars to his name. After working as a liquor store clerk, busboy, waiter and gas station attendant, he had learned to speak English and saved enough money to launch his first restaurant in 1984, Shanghai Charlie’s. Located in Capistrano Beach, California.

In 1989, he opened his full service restaurant, Stix, in Laguna Niguel, California.

With the success of the Stix restaurant, it became evident that he was a savvy businessman. The first Pick Up Stix restaurant opened in Rancho Santa Margarita, California in 1990.

Within a decade, he had built an empire with more than 100 Pick Up Stix locations, a warehouse and distribution and commissary that streamlined the preparation of ingredients ensuring that each restaurant serves the freshest and most consistent products. By 2001, the potential for enormous growth by being part of a large well-respected restaurant organization came in to play. He sold his restaurant business and distribution center to TGI Friday. By 2003, he decided to retire from Pick Up Stix as the President and CEO. He continues to serve however as a consultant and advisor for Pick Up Stix.

Within the same year, he had divested all his interests in Pick Up Stix to expand his real estate development company, Zion Enterprises LLC. He and his team members have successfully acquired a few pieces of land and redeveloped them into medical buildings, office buildings, storages, residential, retail shopping centers, and RV Golf Parks. All these projects turned out to be the best investment returns.

Charles Zhang has always had a vision. In 2004, while expanding on his real estate developements, he founded Aseptic Solutions USA. A new State-of-the-Art Beverage Manufacturing Facility. His vision was to design the plant to manufacture a better tasting and longer lasting product. He focused on the ability to extend the shelf life of beverages. He learned that he could do that and at the same time keep beverages safe, fresh and flavorful for over a year, all without refrigeration and preservatives. The company’s anchor customers are Neways, FreeLife, Isagenix, etc. who are the top multi level marketing companies producing all the nutritional and dietary beverages for Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries.

Moreover, the company also co-packs the highest quality fruit juices, vegetables juices and Energy Drinks for companies like Naked Juice, Sambazon, Red Bull, etc. The company also has an in house laboratory providing comprehensive testing, ensuring the best end result from the cold filing technology using the Max Flash Sterilization Process.

Aseptic Solutions USA

Charles Zhang is the Chairman, CEO & President of Aseptic Solutions USA and manages the day to day activities of the plant. He also focuses on strategic planning, marketing, and development. Among his many achievements, he was recognized and named “Entrepreneur of the Year in 1997", received the “Spirit of Life” award in 2002, and received the “Aseptic Technology” award in May 2008.

Personal Life

He resides in Laguna Niguel, California with his wife and two sons. He is very active in his church and has been devoting his time helping the church to develop a sanctuary meeting hall in San Juan Capistrano, CA. The time Charles Zhang entered America it was with only $20. Since then, he has made a considerable fortune. Most importantly he has considerably created many job opportunities for Americans and has plans to continue growing for many years to come.
