Useful stuff
[edit]- Petscan can generate all kinds of lists, like this one of Featured Articles below 15k.
- To see the estimated word count, you can activate Wikipedia:Prosesize just by checking the box here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-input-wpgadget-Prosesize Once it's active, you can click the "Page size" button in the tools menu.
- You can get a permanent link by clicking on the page's history tab. Like this version of the Teahouse page with your recent questions: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Teahouse&oldid=1162269539
- And finally, you create a custom scratch page within your user space. For example, you could go to the User:Iljhgtn/Tools page which currently does not exist, click the "Start the User:Iljhgtn/Tools page", and paste any useful Wikipedia stuff you find there for later reference.

Strong national ties to a topic
[edit]See also: Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers § Strong national ties to a topic, and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers § Unit choice and order
An article on a topic that has strong ties to a particular English-speaking nation should use the (formal, not colloquial) English of that nation. For example:
- Afrikaners (South African English)
- American Civil War (American English)
- Australian Defence Force (Australian English)
- Christchurch (New Zealand English)
- Dublin (Hiberno-English)
- Great Fire of London (British English)
- Lagos (Nigerian English)
- Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Pakistani English)
- Mumbai (Indian English)
- Vancouver (Canadian English)
For topics with strong ties to Commonwealth of Nations countries and other former British territories, use Commonwealth English orthography, largely indistinguishable from British English in encyclopedic writing (excepting Canada, which uses a different orthography).

[edit]Creating a manual annual archive
[edit]The following works with the { { archived annually } } method.
Create a new page, titled "User talk:Iljhgtn/Archive 2023" (but insert the Name of "Archive 20XX" for the correct respective year at the start of any new year.
To manually archive information, copy and paste the content to be archived from the edit source mode, and then paste it directly below the latest content in the respective numerical archive page, i.e. at the bottom of "User talk:Iljhgtn/Archive 2023" for example.
Then delete the content from the primary User talk page, as it is then archived and no longer needed on the talk page.
