Stars are people who stand out in their art and have the ability to captivate an audience with their aura or talents. In the music industry we are introduced to countless artists who have hopes of becoming something bigger than their beginnings. For East Atlanta rapper Iam Saphyre born Cynteria Mo'nique Langhorne, her sights are set on peaking success and pushing her music to the masses.

Growing up with her mom and 2 older brothers was a struggle for Saphyre. In earlier days, her mom did the best she could to look after them and while they lived in the suburbs, with a good school district, her mom was always away working to make ends meet. She always wanted to ensure her children had a good education despite their constant change in their living situation.

The artist is open about the challenges of being the only girl. Saphyre was often disciplined and held to high values by her brothers with tough love. As the ‘men of the house’ traditional strict rules applied to her; no parties, no hanging out with fast girls, no revealing clothing and of course no boyfriends. Their tough love was just them looking out for their younger sister, which as she grew older, she came to deeply appreciate. Saphyre was raised by a strong woman who instilled in her the fundamentals of survival, productivity, and perseverance. Her mother, Cynthia Langhorne was respected by her peers which is something positive that Saphyre got to experience growing up. Her mother did not settle or take any mess from anyone and no matter how rough life got she was notorious for figuring it out!

From 2 years old into her teens Saphyre transitioned from being born in a trailer park in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to a hotel room in Gwinnett, followed by sleeping at various hotels, friends of her mother's homes, even in the streets, all before the age of thirteen; but her family always had each others back. The struggles of her earlier days molded Saphyre into the survivor that she is today, and the learning lessons she received passed down from her mother helped her into adulthood.

Once life evened out with Saphyre landing in East Atlanta, the birth of her music career began to take manifest. This is an artist who has always had a love for music. What began as her enjoying the songs her mother would play in the early mornings grew into her discovering her own selection of artists that she enjoyed hearing. Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole, Usher, Monica, and Jaheim were some of the greats her mom exposed her to and for Saphyre it helped build the soul of her artistic talents. As she got older, she discovered her own sounds for inspiration. Saphyre began to take interests in big-name artists such as 50 cent, T-Pain, Chris Brown, and Eminem. These were some of the artists that made her feel connected to music. Now that she grew to know what she likes, when Drake hit the scene Saphyre instantly became influenced by his style of singing and rapping on the same track which Saphyre sort of channels in her own lane. As a music artist in the hardest industry to break into it requires a certain kind of animalistic strength and strategy. Saphyre, who has been heavily influenced by other Atlanta star names such as Skooly, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, Derez Deshon & Lil Keed has had to overcome her own struggles of self-doubt in order to break her career into new levels. While she has a growing fan base of people who adore her music, the rapper is working to fully believe in herself. Her music speaks volumes and is filled with storytelling, past tribulations, struggles and success.

Her major career highlights include headlining at the Shh Show with Big Bank in Atlanta, radio interview plus song break on 107.9 FM with DJ Holiday and DJ Geranimo, performing at Hollipalooza, opening for former 1501 Records artist Erica Banks, opening up for rapper Asianae, with several other notable stages. Saphyre has also received some major co-signs from industry vets including Drumma Boy, Zaytoven Beatz, DJ Scream, Big Bank, Ugly Money Niche, DJ Plugg and KatieGotBandz. Her personal milestone is that despite all that she has been through, she never gave up on herself. Saphyre is a PERFORMER. Known for having very energetic sets, standing on tables, running, jumping, and bringing her music alive while performing, this is a star who will not only continue to take Atlanta by storm but break bigger barriers once she is mainstream.

“One of my favorite luxuries is being able to live out my dreams everyday whether it's big or small; because I think a lot of people get to a certain age where they're only dreaming while they're sleep and day dreaming when they're awake. Its sad ya know? Like, seeing it in my mind isn't enough for me. Especially knowing that once I see it in my mind I can see it in my reality too. I think to myself "it must be mine!" and I gotta go get it. - Iam Saphyre.

Her debut project ‘Drugz’ was a song she made while experimenting with Shrooms. While the artist mentions that she probably wouldn't try them again she did manage to create an outer this world single that ended up on the radio airwaves of Atlanta. Outside of her capabilities of being a diverse artist, her music is created to make the pain in your life feel a little less difficult to bear when you expose yourself to the art of sound.

The artist is currently residing in East Atlanta working on new music and performing at various stages. Although her foundation is music she plans to also go into engineering, film production and song writing. Her music genres include Hip-hop, R&B, and pop music with plans to also venture into the country and jazz genres as well.
