Introduction

[edit]

I'm an associate professor in the Psychology discipline at York College, City University of New York.

I am considering that Wikipedia is not evil [1][2]. I'm working through this by editing articles and doing a Wikipedia editing assignment with my I/O Psychology course.

My talk page contains assignments from my students ... but please do not let that keep you from leaving a message.

Wikipedia Technical Information

[edit]

Two students have described situations where they were unable to edit my User Talk page. After looking at the Wikipedia help topics I first concluded that it was a case of IP address blocking. However, when looking at more material on Wikipedia (Wikipedia:Blocking IP addresses and Wikipedia:Blocking policy) IP blocking doesn't seem to be the case. It's Wikipedia policy not to permanently block addresses but to block one for a matter of hours. Students not being able to edit Wikipedia should consult those two pages.
