Hi, I'm IByte, a software developer and computer science graduate of the University of Twente, The Netherlands (born 1981). I was a regular contributor to Wikipedia some time during mid-2005, but I got fed up with the continual infighting and distrust (mostly people being over-eager to delete others' useful work), which weren't getting me the satisfaction I desire from a volunteer task like this.
During this time, I mostly did minor/janitorial edits (spelling, stub tag, AfD creation or voting, reverting vandalism etc.) and writing a little article once in a while. I have now heavily reduced my Wikipedia activity, but may still fix the occasional typo and such. Any other info in my user space may be outdated.
Comments, confusion, praise, bones to pick? Drop me a line at my talk page.
I made a little bot to help me with my edits. As stub (re)tagging is now fully functional, I may as well join the WikiProject Stub Sorting.
These are some kinds of articles you might see me tinker with:
An interest in technology and science comes with the trade.
If you think my interest in New Zealand-related articles is above average for someone who lives at the other end of the world, it's because I did an internship for a couple of months at the University of Otago in Dunedin.
