Good day, fellow Wikipedians!

Summary

My name is Lee Hume. I am a female. I am a writer, editor, and website editor. I live just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Education

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Worcester State College, now known as Worcester State University.

Work Bio

My work bio includes stints as a technical writer, functional business analyst, quality assurance analyst, consultant, editor, web content coordinator, and website editor.

I am now semi-retired.

The last several positions were my favorite, as they tapped directly into my interests and strengths.

Web Content Coordinator

As a web content coordinator, I was the last person to touch the web page before it was published.

I would add, update or delete text and digital assets (images, video, PDFs) on a web page; I would construct the page in the content management system (Adobe Experience Manager); I would ensure that images would display correctly on any device (mobile, tablet, desktop); I would ensure that the web page was error-free prior to publication.

I quality-assured the page by checking each word, link, menu option, form...I verified and bench-tested any bit of content and user interaction.

I was the user advocate, ensuring that the website was consistent, cohesive, usable, functional, clear, accurate, easy-to-use, on-brand, and professional.

Freelance Website Editor

Currently, as a freelance website editor, I conduct forensic examinations of websites that are in development or that are "live" and accessible on the internet.

I quality-assure the website word-by-word, link-by-link, image-by-image...reviewing all digital content and making changes or drafting a report with screen shots that describe what the client needs to change.

The critique, the forensic examination, is meant to polish the website, to ensure an optimum experience for the user. It is in no way a criticism.

I have used WordPress, Facebook, Wix and other website publishing tools.

Contributing to Wikipedia

My value-adds to Wikipedia: writing, editing, quality-assuring, fact-checking, and researching.
