There are gaps in the entry for Spinoza, a betrail of his intentions as documented by Rebecca Goldstein, a MacArthur Fellow, in her 2006 book Betraying Spinoza. He did not want to be considered a Jew or associated with the community, only secretly with a few close friends, while he is now treated as a hero by his civil and religious community. In reading the book Antonio Damasio cited a further double betrail in the failure to acknowledge his "monumental contribution to modernity" and "then those who are now intent on dismantling it." The Wikipedia article could benefit from a reflection of her "insightful portraits of his intellectual and personal identities." which were noted by Harry G. Frankfurt emeritus professor of philosophy at Princeton University.
